BEAVERCREEK — Beavercreek resident Krysten Lindsay Hager won the Dayton Book Expo 2017 Best Sellers award for Children/Teens books for her teen novel, True Colors.

The Dayton Book Expo was held April 28 at Sinclair College and featured over 90 authors signing books and participating on writing panels. The awards were given to the best-selling books in four genres: Children/Teens, Fiction, Non-fiction, and inspirational.

Hager writes novels that deal with the ups and downs teen girls face and the insecurities that come from trying to fit in, dealing with friendships, dating and fame.

Her debut novel, True Colors, came out in 2014 and was followed by two more books in the Landry’s True Colors Series as well as the novels, Next Door to a Star and Competing with the Star. Her latest book, Dating the It Guy, was on the Amazon’s hot new release list and bestsellers list and is about a teen girl dating a senator’s popular son and dealing with the drama that ensues.

Besides winning the Dayton Book Expo’s best Sellers award, Hager has won the Readers’ Favorite Award for best preteen book as well as two Double Decker Books awards for True Colors and Best Friends … Forever? Her first book was named Debut Novel of the Year by Librarian Lavender. Hager’s work has been featured in USA Today, The Flint Journal, the Grand Haven Tribune and on Living Dayton.
