BEAVERCREEK — Past Beavercreek Mayor Vicky Gambrone spoke during the last city council meeting to announce the induction of Beavercreek City Council Member Debborah Wallace as the newest member of the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame. The official announcement and induction will be made in a ceremony in Columbus on Nov. 3.
“Debborah Wallace has demonstrated outstanding leadership as an entrepreneur, community leader and public servant,” Gambrone said. “I was very proud to join Ohio State Representative Perales and others to nominate her to the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame.”
Since the formation of the The Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame in 1992, the organization has inducted more than 400 Ohio veterans, including an additional Beavercreek City Council Member Brian Jarvis.
Each year, 20 inductees are selected by an executive committee made up of Ohio veterans. They select their nominees from hundreds of applications obtained across the state of Ohio. The applicants are leaders in their community and have made some sort of significant impact on other veterans around them.
“I think anyone who has served with Debborah or knows her, knows that she’s always wanted a life of service and has accomplished it. She uses every volunteer effort in service to demonstrate extraordinary leadership for disabled veterans and citizens,” Gambrone said. “She has a deep and abiding commitment to her country and profession.”
Beavercreek is the only city in Ohio that now has two city councilmembers that’s been inducted into the Ohio Veteran’s Hall of Fame.
