BEAVERCREEK — The Beavercreek City Schools Board of Education unanimously approved an incremental tuition increase for each typically developing student who attends the Beavercreek Preschool Center.
The increase will begin in the fall and be phased in over three years: a $190 increase in the 2017-2018 school year will raise tuition to $1,030, a $190 increase in the 2018-2019 school year will raise tuition to $1,220, an increase of $180 in the 2019-2020 school year will raise tuition to $1,400.
Beavercreek City Schools evaluated several factors to determine appropriate tuition rates including budget constraints, staffing requirements, and comparisons with similar preschool programs at school districts across our region. When Beavercreek Preschool Center tuition rates reach their zenith in the 2019-2020 school year, they will still be less than a majority of similar programs.
“The increase is about maintaining a high quality preschool program for the children of this community,” said Director of Pupil Services Bobbie Fiori.
The Beavercreek Preschool Center is free and open to children between the ages of 3-5 who qualify for special education services. Children from Beavercreek are also invited to register as tuition students. Families of these students are required to pay yearly tuition and will be affected by the incremental increase.
“Our preschool program’s mission is to provide the best early education possible to all students and this tuition increase will allow us to continue doing so,” said Beavercreek City Schools Superintendent Paul Otten.
