Meet the team night at Beavercreek

BEAVERCREEK — Beavercreek’s basketball teams will be introduced 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22 at the Ed Zink Fieldhouse at Beavercreek High School. The boys and girls high school and middle school teams will there along with cheerleaders, the pep band, the Beaverettes and the Beavercreek Stars.

Klusman selected HM

FAIRBORN — Wright State University junior outside hitter Katie Klusman was selected honorable mention All-Horizon League as the volleyball postseason teams and awards were announced by the league office.

Klusman, of Cincinnati, is third in the league in kills per set at 3.49. She reached double figures in kills 20 times this season, double figures in digs on 11 occasions and posted nine double-doubles. She reached 1,000 career kills last Friday at Cleveland State and finished the season with 1009 overall.

Klusman was selected to the USF Classic All-Tournament Team in September after recording 38 kills and 17 digs over three matches, including 15 kills against host South Florida. She tallied a season-high 23 kills versus Toledo and Milwaukee and had a career-best 30 digs at Valparaiso.

WSU graduation rates best ever

FAIRBORN — The academic success of Wright State University student-athletes has soared to new heights. A new set of data on the Graduation Success Rates (GSR) of Division I athletics programs was released by the NCAA and Wright State’s 88 percent is its highest overall since the NCAA began tracking GSR with the class of student-athletes who entered in 1995.

Not only did WSU post its highest GSR in school history, but Wright State has also posted above the 86 percent national average, had the second highest GSR in the Horizon League as well as the second highest amongst Division I public institutions in the state of Ohio.

Wright State had seven teams finish above the national average for their respective sports. WSU women’s tennis led the way with a 100 percent GSR, while baseball (96), men’s soccer (93), women’s cross country/track (93), men’s cross country (88), men’s golf (86) and men’s basketball (83) all followed suit.
