Xenia football players celebrate the team’s 25-17 victory at Butler on Friday. The Buccaneers are ranked in the latest Ohio AP Division II state football poll.

XENIA — Xenia has been voted into the top 10 of the Division II state football poll once again.

The Buccaneers are ranked 10th this week in a poll conducted by Ohio Associated Press members. Xenia received 24 voting points, twice as many as a week ago, and maintain its one first-place vote it has received all three weeks of this season’s rankings.

Xenia is coming off a 25-17 win in week five at previously undefeated Vandalia Butler. The 10th-place ranking marks the third straight season Xenia has made the top-10 in at least one week’s poll.

Also appearing in the D-III poll is Bellbrook. Gaining 13 points this week, the Golden Eagles appear outside of the rankings with the 14th most points. Bellbrook has won four straight games following its season opening defeat against fifth-ranked Tippecanoe.

Despite improving to 5-0, Greeneview was one of two teams to drop out of the top 10 in D-V. The Rams were ranked 10th a week ago, but are the first team out of the poll this week while still receiving one first-place vote.

Carroll dropped out of the receiving votes section of the D-III rankings after suffering its first loss of the season in week five.
